Terms & Conditions
All participants in the “My Big World: Show & Tell Competition” must adhere to the following Terms and Conditions.
General
By joining the “My Big World: Show & Tell Competition” (the “Competition”), participants agree to follow all the rules set by Mattel Continental Asia (the “Organiser”). All decisions made by the Organiser are final. Participants accept that if they fail to adhere to the rules of the Competition, they may be disqualified.
The Organiser reserves the right to update, change, or remove any rules at any time without prior notice.
The Organiser also reserves the right to change, cancel, or suspend the competition at any time without notice, particularly in the event of technical issues, fraud, or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.
Anyone who tampers with the competition or breaks the rules — whether during selection or at any stage — can be disqualified. The Organiser may also take legal action if needed.
All participants are responsible for any costs related to entering the competition, such as outfit, props, and transportation.
Eligibility
The Competition is open to children aged 4 to 6 years old (born between 2019 and 2021) in Malaysia.
The Competition is not open to children of the employees, sponsors, advertising and promotional agencies, or any organisations directly affiliated with the Organiser.
Registration must be completed by a parent, guardian, or preschool teacher on behalf of the child.
Participants must be available and committed to all of the key competition dates. This ensures a smooth process for all stages of the competition. This alone does not guarantee that they will advance to the Virtual Auditions or the Grand Finals.
Competition Format and Phases
Participants may choose to only enter one (1) of the following categories:
Thomas & Friends My Big Adventure
Barbie My Big Dreams
The competition will take place in three phases:
Phase 1 | Open Call
Participants are required to fill out the Google Form and submit a 1-minute self-introduction video via the official Google Form available on the competition website before 2 August 2025. Submissions received after the deadline may be disqualified.
Phase 2 | Virtual Auditions
40 shortlisted participants will be invited to present their Show & Tell virtually via Zoom to a panel of judges. Auditions will take place on 23 August 2025.
Phase 3 | Grand Finals
14 finalists will take the stage to present live to a panel of judges and audience at the concourse of The Exchange TRX. The Grand Finals are set to take place on 7 September 2025.
Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and any other costs incurred in relation to attending the Grand Finals.
The Organiser reserves the right to extend submission deadlines and revise competition dates if necessary.
How to Enter
No purchase is required to participate.
All registrations must be submitted through the official competition microsite.
Participants are to compete as individuals.
To enter, a parent, guardian, or coordinating teacher must complete the online registration form and upload a 1-minute recorded introduction video of the participant.
Video submissions must be recorded horizontally, .mp4 or .mov format and should not exceed 10MB in file size. A Google account is required for file upload.
The Organiser reserves the right to reject any registration that is incomplete or does not meet the required format. Only fully completed and correctly submitted entries will be eligible for consideration in the Virtual Auditions.
Judging, Selection, and Notification of Winners
The Competition will be judged by experienced representatives appointed by the Organiser based on the following judging criteria: (1) Delivery/Presentation, (2) Creativity, (3) Show impact, and (4) Overall performance.
The judges’ decisions are final.
Shortlisted participants for Virtual Auditions and finalists for Grand Finals will be notified via email and WhatsApp.
If participants do not acknowledge the Organiser within two days of the announcement, they will be replaced by the next most qualified participant.
If a shortlisted participant withdraws or becomes unavailable for any reason, the Organiser reserves the right to replace them with the next most qualified participant or proceed without replacement.
Prizes
All participating students will receive a digital Certificate of Participation.
Five (5) outstanding entries will be awarded trophies, cash prizes, toys from Barbie and Thomas & Friends, and Deemcee Speaking course or PaMaMe event credits with prize value and components varying by winner.
Finalists ranked 6th to 14th will each receive RM150 cash prize, a Deemcee Confidence Speaking Workshop and an assessment class.
40 qualifiers for the Virtual Auditions will each receive RM80 worth of shopping vouchers, and a Deemcee assessment class.
Participants who do not make it for the Virtual Auditions will receive RM20 worth of shopping vouchers.
The top five (5) preschools with the highest number of entries will each receive a Special School Award in recognition of their collective participation and support.
Please note that each school is counted individually. If a preschool operates under a franchise or has multiple branches, each branch will be treated as a separate entity for the purpose of entry count and award eligibility.
Further details regarding the collection or redemption of prizes will be shared by the Organiser. Uncollected prizes may be forfeited or reassigned at the Organiser’s discretion.
Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash or other items.
By accepting the prize, winners and their parents/guardians grant permission to the Organiser and its appointed agencies to use their names, photographs, video footage, and/or statements for publicity, advertising, and promotional purposes, in any media, without further notice or compensation.
The Organiser reserves the right to replace any prize with another item of similar value if necessary due to availability or other unforeseen circumstances.
Force Majeure
The Organiser shall not be held responsible for any delay, cancellation, or changes to the Competition due to events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, government restrictions, or health-related emergencies.
Interpretation of Terms
In the event of any ambiguity in the Terms & Conditions, the interpretation of the Organiser shall be final and binding.
Consent for Shared Registration Data
By registering for this competition, participants, parents/guardians, and coordinating teachers acknowledge and agree that their personal information including, but not limited to, names, contact details, and school affiliations, may be collected and shared on a common platform (e.g., Google Docs, Google Sheets) for administrative and coordination purposes.
This information will only be accessible to relevant organisers, school representatives, and competition officials to facilitate the Competition. Reasonable measures will be taken to protect data privacy, but participants should be aware that shared platforms may have inherent security risks.
By proceeding with registration, participants confirm their consent to this data-sharing arrangement.
Data Protection & Media Consent
Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current Malaysia data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual's prior consent.
Participation in the Competition and acceptance of any prize constitute irrevocable permission for the Organiser to use the winners’ names, photographs, videos, and/or recordings for publicity and promotional purposes across various platforms, including digital, print, and social media, without additional compensation or prior notice.
Disclaimer of Liability
The Organiser will do its best to ensure the competition space is safe and well-managed. However, the Organiser will not be held responsible for any accidents, injuries, losses, or damages that may occur during the Competition.
By participating, participants agree to release the Organiser, affiliates, employees, and their respective agencies associated with the development and execution of the Competition from any liability arising from the Competition or the use of prizes, as permitted by law.
